Channel One Russia Launches in Alaska
July 10, 2012 – Channel One Russia announces its launch of broadcast in Alaska. The channel is now available a la carte in Matansuska Telephone Association’s (MTA) Russian Tier.
Alaska – the only US state bordered with Russia – is now covered with the signal of Channel One Russia – the largest Russian-language broadcaster in the world. Now the audience of the biggest US state can watch the latest news from Russia, the best and favorite movies, documentaries and unique entertainment programs, talk show and games.
Channel One Russia is available to MTA customers on Channel 239 for $12.50 per month.
“We embrace the Russian heritage of the Matanuska Susitna Valley and we are excited to be offering Russian programming in our line up,” said Samantha McKibbin, DTV Product Manager.
MTA is the first cable television provider to launch Russian-language television in Alaska.
